2018 Mythology Cabernet Franc 🔥 Exclusive Release
BC VQA, Similkameen Valley
100% Cab Franc | Dry (RS 2.7 g/ltr)
90 pts Carl's Wine Club | 91pts Tony Aspler

💥 This is the Classic “Black Forest” cake on the nose; dark chocolate, maraschino cherry and fresh whip cream. This is a very appealing start. A touch of fresh Mediterranean herb mix also brings some freshness on the nose. This is not your big and heavy Cab Franc. We have more of a medium body, well-balanced effort focusing on bright fruits, more than a hot and heavy style. The tannins are round and silky bringing a good length and fresh finish. A low 13.6% ABV is greatly appreciated with hot temperatures around the corner. Well done. (Carl's Notes). 141 cases produced.

From the Herrera Vineyard in Keremeos, showcasing the special rugged terroir of the Similkameen valley. A complex bouquet of dark cherry, plum, blackcurrant, sage, and pepper spice. Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Flavours of black cherry, dark raspberry, blackberry, savoury green herbs, and black pepper. Well-balanced with fine tannins. (Winery Notes).

Pairings: pork belly, BBQ ribs
Drink now until 2025
2019 Mythology Cabernet Franc | New Release!
BC, VQA Okanagan Valley
90% Cab Franc, 10% Merlot l Dry | 14.6% ABV
90+ pts Carl’s Wine Club

A delicious blend of Cabernet Franc 90% and Merlot 10% sourced from Rama Ridge Vineyard in Oliver BC. With a deep and intriguing purple colour, the wine features aromas of raspberry, fresh plum, chocolate and floral blossoms. The palate is full, with great tannic structure, just starting to melt and incorporate in the wine. Flavours of ripe fruits like blackberry, ripe raspberry and dark cherry, are well layered with a with a hint of dark chocolate, mint, dry basil and toasted spices. The finish is long and peppery. All in all, a wine that can age well for close to a decade, but most of all, offers a great QPR. (CWC, 11/04/2023). 28 cases made.

Food pairing: smoked brisket, spicy beef chili
Drink now until 2028

A solid Cab Franc with a great price, as we have come to expect from Mythology Vineyard! (CWC, 11/15/2023). 78 cases made.

Why I Chose Mythology

Winemaker Fred DiProfio
Mythology Vineyard is located near Osoyoos, BC in the South Okanagan, however the grapes for many of the wines featured this week are sourced throughout the Okanagan and Similkameen.

Finding great QPR - Quality to Price Ratio - is getting harder and harder, as both inflation and a move to 'premium' inch in, especially for BC wine.

Which is why it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Mythology Vineyard!

A new brand, with a highly respected and accomplished career winemaker, whose wines we have featured several times in the club already.

Winemaker Mark Simpson and his business partner, Theresa Centanni, purchased Mythology Vineyard and the Sonora Desert Inn in 2022.

The vineyard sits on a four-acre property, with sandy soils that were originally planted in 1995, with 3.5 acres of Merlot and 0.15 acres of Tempranillo. Mark and Theresa also hold a craft distilling license and produce the only 'Vine Vodka' that I'm aware of in BC!

I hope you enjoy these discoveries. If I were you, I'd buy them by the case while they are still available at these excellent price points.

Cheers,
Carl
